Klinefelter's Syndrome is a genetic condition where males have 1 extra "X" chromosome. This condition is not inherited, but is a result of problems during cell division. It's neither dominant or recessive. It's a chromosomal disorder. Klinefelter's syndrome is a trisomy of the sex-chromosomes giving a "XXY" set. Which means males have 47 chromosomes instead of 46. This syndrome effects 1 in 500 to 1,000 males , it doesn't occur in females.
It is not possible for Klinefelter's Syndrome to be passed down because it's not a trait or a gene , it's just a disorder. " Klinefelter's Syndrome is diagnosed in adulthood using karyotype , an analysis of the patients chromosomes taken from a blood sample"http://learn.genetics.utah.edu/content/disorders/whataregd/klinefelter/.
The life expectancy of this syndrome is normal. There is NO treatmeant for Klinefelter's Syndrome , other than some treatments that can stimulate sexual developement and hormonal therapy. Males that have Klinefelter's Syndrome are sterile which mean they cannot have children. If they are young they have speech problems and usually stutter.
Physical Symptoms : sparse body hairs , enlarge breasts , wide hips. In most men the testicles are small and in some men the penis doesn't reach adult size. Also men usually have long legs , a short torso and they are tall in height.
